A Brief Introduction to Geology and Geomorphology has been an idea precipitating in my mind for a few years. Without the encouragement and support of my colleagues, family and friends This textbook would have remained a fleeting thought instead of a tangible piece of reality, ready to create ripples of awakening in curious minds.
I would first like to thank my family Monifa, Kenzo, and Koji whose love and support allow me to dream of impossibly big things and make them real. Monifa, my dear wife, you have an amazing capacity to make the most challenging look easy. As my partner in raising our boys while excelling in your career, makes you my inspiration and quite simply, my muse. To my Mother, Margaret Steele and Father, Carl Miller – You have been my role models and my heroes. Mom, I remember falling asleep with you studying by my bed and waking up to you in the same position, still studying. I called on that memory many times during my scholastic endeavours and it encouraged me to persevere. Dad, your dedication and service to the community is an inspiration, and it showed me the joy to be had from helping others achieve their true potential. You both spared no effort nor expense in my education and I hope you know that this publication would not have been possible without you. To my in-laws – Christine Morgan and Maurice “Tony” Morgan, you have been my relentless supporters and cheerleaders during my each and every endeavour. I can feel you cheering me on even as I write these words. I truly appreciate you.
